How does a solar system work?


Solar heating systems convert the energy in sunlight into heat. They do so easily, even on cloudy days. The sun and/or light shines on the solar collector. Both are converted into heat by the solid copper absorber in the collector. The frost-proof carrier medium heats up and transports the heat into the tank through the solar pipeline. The energy produced internally can already at this stage be used for hot water, heating, process heat and cooling. The optimal location for solar collectors is on roofs or open spaces facing south, southwest or southeast.

Solar water heating


GASOKOL hot water solutions are the easiest way to reduce the energy consumed to heat water. This saves real money, and also protects your heating system. Potential reheating cycles are drastically reduced. Energy for hot water in the bathroom, kitchen and for the swimming pool is supplied by the sun from the moment you implement the system. Just like that, and for the whole family.

Per capita consumption of hot water averages 40 litres per day at a temperature of 60°C. An average household needs around 1.5 m2 of collector surface and a tank with a capacity of 80-100 litres per person.

Solar cooling


In the summer months in particular, the need to stay comfortable at home and at work results in a greater demand for cooling. The optimal use for the surplus solar energy generated in the summer months is to cool properties and provide process cooling. Using high-performance GASOKOL solar collectors and solar cooling systems.

Solar cooling provides a comfortable indoor and living environment and allows work and production processes to be kept online, no matter what temperature it is outside.

Properly speaking, the cooling process is the removal of heat. GASOKOL absorption machines enable the cooling and heating of indoor areas and industrial processes in a power range from 15 to 200 kW. Absorption machines need hot water as their motive power.





Solar process heat


Solar process heat is suitable for commercial and industrial enterprises that require process heat at a lower temperature level: below 100°C. GASOKOL solar systems can be used to produce the heat required by a wide variety of processes. For instance, for washing, cleaning, drying, heating and pre-heating processes.
 
Around 30% of industrial heating demand in Europe requires a temperature level of less than 100°C. The use of solar thermal energy is optimal for these applications.

Solar building structure activation

Solar systems equipped with GASOKOL high-performance solar collectors achieve maximum collector field yield. This leads to maximum efficiency and makes it possible to avoid using fossil fuels. Compared to traditional heat sources, as a thermal reservoir concrete guarantees a very comfortable indoor climate. Depending on the building standard and user profile, a solar fraction of 100% can be used to supply heating energy requirements.

Solar activation of building structures ensures consistent room temperatures and an optimal indoor climate during winter and summer alike. GASOKOL high-performance solar collectors collect solar thermal energy and transport it into the GASOKOL heating buffer. From there the heat is fed into the building structure activated as the thermal reservoir. The energy is absorbed by the thermal mass and delivered into the interior space in a controlled fashion. Hot water is supplied via a GASOKOL's buffer tank and the freshwater module for safe drinking water.
